Drawings and Mixed Media Works on paper.
One of my favourite ways of producing art is to pick up a pencil and draw. It is possible to create both dramatic and subtle effects using charcoal and it is the most 'painterly' of the drawing media.
Every work of art that I do starts off as a drawing or even several studies, this is a very important way of begining the process of creativity for me.
Studies are done in situ and occaisionally end up as works in their own right or go on to inspire works in other media, such as oil on canvas, pastel or intaglio.
My drawings include works using charcoal, graphite, pen and ink and mixed media [ works where watercolour or pastel is added to the drawing].
